The people behind the counter
Pharma Marcus Center is an independent community pharmacy in Mission Viejo, built around a simple idea: patients come before paperwork, and every question deserves a patient answer.
Bassie Marcus, Pharmacist-in-Charge
Pharma Marcus Center is led by Bassie Marcus, our Pharmacist-in-Charge, who opened the pharmacy with a clear picture of what a neighborhood drugstore should feel like: unhurried, personal, and honest. After years of watching patients rush through brief counter exchanges at larger chains, Bassie wanted to build a place where the pharmacist actually has time to sit down with you.
That philosophy shapes everything we do, from the way we label medications in plain language to the private consultation space set aside for longer conversations. Bassie and the team review every prescription carefully, check for interactions across your full medication list, and explain things the way a good neighbor would: clearly, kindly, and without jargon.
What we stand for
Independent pharmacies survive because they earn trust one conversation at a time. These are the commitments we make to every patient who walks through our door:
- Plain-language counseling, never rushed and never talked down.
- Careful safety checks on every fill, every time, no shortcuts.
- Honest guidance, including telling you when you do not need a product.
- Respect for your privacy and your time, from counter to delivery.
- A genuine connection to Mission Viejo and the south Orange County community we serve.
"We measure our days by the worries we can take off someone's shoulders, not by the number of bags we hand across the counter."
Bassie Marcus, Pharmacist-in-Charge
